Marx and Engels made no secret of their ends, nor of their proposed methods to attain them.
In the beginning of the Manifesto, they state:
“It is high time that Communists should openly, in the face of the whole world, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the Spectre of Communism with a Manifesto of the party itself.”
And so they did.
Below follows a list of excerpts of The Communist Manifesto containing explicit statements about the goals set by communism and calls to or propagation of the violent methods they assessed needed to be used.
